Welcome to the Gaelforce Lake Fest, a celebration of open-water swimming in Ireland's Hidden Heartlands!
This 11th and 12th of July, we're gathering on the mystical shores of Lough Derg in Mountshannon, Clare for a festival of excitement, family activities, and memorable experiences.
Whether you're an avid swimmer or just after a grand day out, the Gaelforce Lake Fest offers something for everyone.
Schedule of Events
Friday - 11 July
Evening Activities:
- Evening Kayaking: Set off from the docks for an evening kayaking experience along the waters of Lough Derg.
- Sauna Sessions: Relax and unwind in the warmth of the wood-fired barrel sauna on the banks of Lough Derg.
Saturday - 12 July
Gaelforce Great Lake Swim: The main event! Kicking off at 11 AM when the first wave of swimmers take to the water.
Throughout the day:
- Food Trucks: Savour tasty dishes from a variety of local food trucks like
- Artisan Stalls: Explore and purchase unique crafts and products from local artisans.
- Circus Displays & Workshops: Watch and engage in exciting circus performances that will delight the entire family.
- Kids Face Painting: Keep the little ones entertained with face painting throughout the day.
- Live Music: Live traditional music from the Amazing Apples will be played during the event.
- Sauna Sessions: Relax and unwind after your swim or while you are waiting.
- Music in the pub: Make your way to the pub in the evening for some live music.
We’re delighted to bring this festival to life with support from Failté Ireland and can’t wait to welcome you to the shores of Lough Derg in Mountchannon.
