We know it’s not a competition...but here are some of our top tips for getting through the many challenges that extreme obstacle mud runs like Turf Warrior will throw at you.

 

1. When running downhill on wet ground, shorten your stride and move with faster feet. This will prevent slipping and keep you from losing control.

2. Use your arms for balance - stick them out if you need to.

3. When running uphill take short steps and stay within your comfortable pace.

4. Keep your cool - if you are struggling just pace down and keep going. You don't have to run the full thing - walking or crawling is the essence of mud running!

5. Teamwork is key for extreme obstacles. Don't be shy in asking your fellow competitors for a leg up and give a hand when you see someone struggling too.

6. Remember being the best and fastest runner is not what this is all about. Find your strength and use it to conquer the obstacles one by one.

7. Wear suitable clothing. We advise that you wear a wetsuit or a long-sleeved tight-fitting top and leggings. A hat and gloves are useful too.

8. Embrace the mud and madness. Let yourself go, dive in and enjoy it. There’s nothing quite like it!
