  • Registration: By post.
  • Race Hat & Number: Sent out by post, 9 days before the event.
  • International competitors: Collect your Race hat & Number on event day at the information desk.
  • Arrival time: See race schedule table.
  • Cut off time: Check the route information above.
  • Prize Giving: 11am (3.9km), 13:00pm (750m), 15:00pm (2km) or when the last prize winner is over the finish line.

Parking & Facilities

PARKING

  • Parking is available around the Killary Adventure Centre area. Exact locations will be sent to you closer to race day. 
  • You may have to take a short bus journey from your car park area.
  • Free parking for competitors.

FACILITIES 

  • Toilets at the start and finish lines.
  • Storage area/key drop.
  • Bag transfer.
  • Changing areas.
  • Heated medical tent.
  • Water refill stations at finish line.
  • Hot food, drinks & hot whiskey at finish line.

Spectators are very welcome! Please stay within the area of the start and finish line.

Mandatory kit 

You will not be allowed to start without this kit.

  • Tow float – bring your own or hire with your entry.
  • Event swim hat with timing chip (provided).

Recommended kit 

  • Wetsuit. You can swim without or without a wetsuit.
  • Goggles.
  • Warm clothes for afterwards.
  • Flipflops or similar for walking to start line.
  • Water bottle for refilling at finish line. No water bottles available at this event.

Tow float hire

TOW FLOAT HIRE

You must wear a tow float to compete in this event.

  • Online entry: €10 to hire (+ deposit), €30 to buy.
  • On the day: €15 to hire (+deposit), €35 to buy. 

Deposit €20 (CASH ONLY) when you collect your tow float.

Safety

Safety
  • Fully marked course with rescue power boats & safety kayakers on the water
  • First aid point, Doctor & medical team
  • Race cap and tow float are mandatory.

Weather conditions are variable. Hypothermia can set in quickly, especially for anyone swimming in skins. It is essential that swimmers monitor how they feel in the water. If in doubt, act quickly and alert our safety staff on the water who will ensure you get the treatment you need.
