- Please arrive early to allow time for parking and race preparation.
- Final race logistics will be confirmed in the competitor information guide sent before the event.
- Water temperature in Killary Fjord is typically 12–13°C at this time of year.
Race Packs
- Race packs are sent by post in advance and include your swim hat with timing chip and race number.
- If your race pack has not arrived before the event, it can be collected from the information desk on race morning.

- An information desk will be available on race morning for any event queries or race pack issues.
Location, Parking & Facilities
Finish Line
Killary Adventure Company is located in Leenane, County Galway, on the edge of Killary Fjord. It sits between Connemara and Mayo, with access from Galway, Dublin, Limerick and Athlone.
Approximate driving distances and times to Killary Adventure Company:
Galway City: 75km | approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
Dublin: 285km | approx. 3 hours 30 minutes
Limerick: 180km | approx. 2 hours 45 minutes
Athlone: 170km | approx. 2 hours 20 minutes
Parking
- Parking locations depend on event distance. Full details will be sent closer to the event. Please follow the marshals’ instructions.

Spectators
- Spectators are welcome at the finish area.
- Parking near the finish is limited, so spectators will need to park where directed by event marshals and walk to the event area.

What You Need
Mandatory Equipment
- Tow float (rent with your entry or on the day)
- Swim hat with timing chip (included in race pack)
- Tow floats and GPS trackers are provided for the 8km distance.
Recommended Gear
- Wetsuit (strongly recommended).
- Goggles
- Warm clothes for after the swim - swimmers are advised to bring a small finish line bag.
