Event schedule & timings 
  • Registration: By post.
  • Race Hat & Number: Sent out by post, 9 days before the event.
  • International competitors: Collect your Race hat & Number on event day at the information desk.
  • Arrival time: please check the timetable as arrival times vary per distance.
  • Start times: From 8am–12pm, check the registration email for your start time.
  • Cut off time: Check route information above.
  • Prize Giving: 11:00am (12km & 800m), 12pm (5.8km), 14:00pm (3.5km), or when last prize winner is over the finish line.

PARKING

  • There is plenty of parking in Lanesborough for competitors. Locations will be sent to your closer to race day. Parking is free.

FACILITIES 

  • Bus transfer to the start line for the 12km, 5.8km and 3.5km distances
  • Toilets at the finish line only  for the 3.5km & 800m (remember to use toilets before you get on the bus or head to the start line)
  • There will be toilets at the start line for the 5.8km & 12km distances only
  • Bag and key drop at the finish line 
  • Changing areas at the finish line 
  • Water refill stations at finish line
  • Hot food, drinks & hot whiskey at finish line

Spectators are very welcome! Please stay within the area of the finish line

Mandatory kit 

You will not be allowed to start without this kit.

  • Tow float – bring your own or hire with your entry.
  • Event swim hat with timing chip (provided).

Recommended kit

  • Wetsuit. You can swim without or without a wetsuit.
  • Goggles.
  • Warm clothes for afterwards.
  • Flipflops or similar for walking to start line.
  • Water bottle for refilling at finish line. No water bottles available at this event.

Tow float hire

TOW FLOAT HIRE

You must wear a tow float to compete in this event.

  • Online entry: €10 to hire (+ €20 deposit)
  • On the day: €15 to hire (+ €20 deposit)

Deposit €20 (CASH ONLY) when you collect your tow float.

Safety

Safety
  • Fully marked course with rescue power boats & safety kayakers on the water
  • First aid point, Doctor & medical team
  • Race cap and tow float are mandatory.

Weather conditions are variable. Hypothermia can set in quickly, especially for anyone swimming in skins. It is essential that swimmers monitor how they feel in the water. If in doubt, act quickly and alert our safety staff on the water who will ensure you get the treatment you need.
