The Full Course

Important information in regards to change to kayaking route.

We are changing the kayaking and bike transition slightly for the full course competitors.

You will now leave your bike at a different location after you register in the Glen Swilly GAA club on Friday evening. This NEW transition area is still on the edge of Gartan lake, near the Glebe Gallery. This will be where you will pick up your bike and also carry out your kayaking on race day.

So instead of kayaking across the lake you will now paddle a loop on the lake back to the same point where you will then pick up your bike and continue on with the course to Errigal. This route change will shorten the cycling by about 2 km. The map shows in black, how you will still run down to the transition area, do your kayak loop and then get on your bike to cycle to Errigal.

A larger map of the registration location and NEW transition area can be found here.

If you have any questions on the route change plase call us on 095 42006 or email info@gaelforceevents.com

Stage 2: Kayaking across Gartan Lake

On reaching Gartan Lake you will paddle approximately 2km in a loop.
At the kayak transition you will be timed out and you will be issued with a paddle, a buoyancy aid, a boat and a companion to paddle with! The boats here are tandem “sit-on-top” kayaks – user friendly by design. The safety cover out on the water is thorough.

Elites: If you entered the elite category, you will not be timed out for the kayak section. So as soon as you reach the kayak section grab your buoyancy aid, paddle and partner and get going!
